                        Hi Readers –

The thing that most amazes me about editing 4 Star
Stories is the caliber of stories that are submitted
                        to us. Some of these stories aren’t a little-bit good;
they aren’t sorta good; they aren’t kinda good; they are
really good, solid stories that are well written
and thought provoking. Any magazine would be proud to
publish them, and they are being offered to us!
                        Wonderful! Marvelous! Wow!

Each issue I am so thrilled. I find myself looking
forward to our submissions emails with something of the
anticipation I reserve for opening Christmas packages –-
I figure there’s gotta be terrific stories hidden among
                        the emails.

                        I don’t remember exactly
what I expected from our writers when we started 4
Star Stories, but whatever it was, the stories we
are getting now are soooooo much better. I am
                        happily surprised.

Thank you, Writers, each and every one of you. We
really appreciate your work! We still love being amazed
                        by a good story.

In this issue of 4 Star Stories we have 4
wonderful new stories for you -- plus a terrific bonus
                        story.

In “Care and Feeding” Edward Ahern presents us with the
concept that interspecies accord can be reached to
                        everyone’s mutual benefit.

Brynn MacNab sends the perfect human ambassador to
treat with aliens over the fate of humanity in “Speaking
                        Up”.

Sean Monaghan takes us along on a journey into the far
reaches of space-time in his story, “Big Catch”.

Then, in his story “Squidge”, Jez Patterson once again
reminds us that it is best for our health to think about
each bite before we eat it and to eat slowly and chew
                        thoroughly.

Finally, about our bonus story, “Operation Rugido Ratόn”
by David Richards, all I can say is, “Viva La Revoluciόn!”

Enjoy and be amazed! See you for 4 Star Stories
Issue 14, coming out before the end of the year!

Oh, and writers, remember to self-edit and spell
check every story before you send it to us, or to anyone
else for that matter. Reading a clean, error-free
manuscript makes editors happy, and a happy
editor is more likely to publish your story.
